How to Create a Calendar in Google.Docs and put in on your Wiki


  1. Login to your Google.Docs account and look for the Calendar link on the top of the page or under More
  2. Once in Calendar, click on CREATE and name it: Events. Give it the Title: Events Calendar and customize the look so that it goes with the theme of your wiki.
  3. Under MyCalendar find your calendar and then click on arrow to the right of your calendar's name. Select Share this calendar - Make it PUBLIC.
  4. Add some events: birthdays, special occasions, a party, etc.
  5. Get the calendar's widget code: Under MyCalendar find your calendar and then click on arrow to the right of your calendar's name. Select Calendar Settings. In that window find Embed this Calendar on the left side. Look to the right of that title and find the calendar's widget code. Copy that code.
  6. Now go to your wiki's calendar page. Click on EDIT. click on the Widget icon on the toolbar, go to "other HTML" and paste the code, Save.
  7. What is a web widget? Can you find other widget code on the web? Find one or more and add it to your wiki. (10 pts)
  8. See this student's FINISHED EXAMPLE. Make sure your wiki looks goods and meets the requirements listed in the assignment to get full credit.
  9. When done, email me the link to your wiki's home page. In the SUBJECT window, put your FULL NAME. Email to: dbutera2@schools.nyc.gov At this point in time, you should have a professionally named email address with your full name in the email address that you should email me from.
